Sequelle deploys Aperto system

Broadband wireless system vendor Aperto Networks and Sequelle Communications Alliance, a fixed wireless carrier focused on rural markets, announced at the Supercomm 2004 trade show this week that Sequelle has deployed the vendor's PacketWave 2.5 GHz system in West Virginia and Ohio.

Sequelle, one of the first fixed wireless carriers to earn Rural Broadband Development funding, is deploying the system in Parkersburg, WV; Marietta, Ohio; and 20 surrounding communities in both states. The carrier offers VPN, voice over IP, Wi-Fi hot spot, LAN/WAN integration and other services to its customers.

In a separate announcement, Aperto said that TransAria, another carrier serving the northwest U.S. region, is deploying its systems at 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz.
