Allied Telesis launches SOHO wireless router

Allied Telesis, which last month changed its name from Allied Telesyn, has launched a new wireless router/bridge device for small office/home office and small business networks.

The new product, the AT-WA1104G, can be deployed as a broadband wireless router, point-to-point bridge, or as an access point., and it provides connectivity for both wireline and wireless access devices within a customer premises.

The Fast Ethernet WAN port enables users to select from a range of WAN connections and operates in a range of modes (PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP & Direct connection) for additional flexibility, according to Allied Telesis. Security features include built-in firewall, URL filters to control outgoing access, and standard encryption such as WEP (Wireless Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), and TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol.
