The network upgrade will bring BroadbandAccess business services and V Cast multimedia access to both cities metro regions, encompassing Schenectady, Troy, Glens Falls, Saratoga Springs, Erie and Niagara Falls as well as smaller towns and villages.

Verizon Wireless finished building its main 3G metropolitan footprint in the country’s major cities earlier this year and has since focused on expanding the network to mid-sized cities and larger regions. Earlier this month it took the EV-DO network to Wichita, Kan., and Southwest, Fla.
