Chicago, Illinois - November 17, 2003 - Wireless Review, the leading monthly publication for wireless service providers, has been awarded FOLIO: magazine’s Gold Eddie Award for editorial excellence. The annual Eddie Award honors publications based how well they articulate and adhere to their editorial mission statements and for the quality of their editorial content. Winners are determined by comparing the judges’ evaluations of each title’s fulfillment of its mission, the quality of its content and its overall design. Wireless Review received the Gold Eddie in the Telecom category, followed by Network World with the Silver Eddie and eWeek with an Honorable Mention.

Wireless Review, which is published by PRIMEDIA Business Magazines & Media, offers comprehensive coverage of wireless networks, applications and business trends through profiles of top executives, technology developers and marketers–the people who put technology in motion. Wireless Review received the award for its March 2002 issue, which marked the launch of a completely redesigned and repositioned publication. From that issue forward, Wireless Review’s editorial goal was to capture the most critical and timely innovations in the wireless industry in their earliest stages of development.

“This award is a recognition of our efforts to make Wireless Review’s content and design reflect the cutting-edge innovation and personality of the wireless industry,” said Jason Meyers, editorial director. “Our editorial goal is to help readers stay on top of what’s coming in wireless and understand what it’s worth, who’s betting on it and what’s at stake. The Eddie Award is a great honor and demonstrates that we’re delivering on that promise.”

The 2003 awards program, sponsored by FOLIO: magazine, attracted more than 2000 award entries, making it the most competitive year yet for the Eddie and Ozzie awards race. The categories covered business-to-business, consumer titles and online sites with segmentation by circulation. A distinguished panel of more than 90 judges participated in the evaluation process.

“The Eddie Award reaffirms our commitment to the mission of serving the unique information needs of wireless service providers in a voice that reflects the wireless industry,” said Mark Hickey, publisher. “We are honored to be recognized for the efforts of our editorial team to consistently deliver quality content and eye-catching graphics that both inform and engage our readers.”
