With that mission in mind, Cerylion opened its doors and introduced its line of personalized wireless Internet apps. These apps provide technology, infrastructure and services to carriers that allow them to offer their subscribers personal, customized network services. Through contextual links and associations from diverse information resources, subscribers should have a richer Internet experience.

"Cerylion's highly personalized technology provides users with freedom of choice," said Nigel Deighton, Gartner Group’s VP and research director. “The associative database could solve a number of problems, including prioritizing content, data and services based on different roles and use cases that are location- and time-sensitive.”

By molding the Internet to deliver information more in line with the way the human mind processes information, Cerylion executives are challenging long-standing assumptions about the Web, addressing barriers to successful wireless adoption and forcing exploration of the flaws in existing Internet infrastructure. Cerylion technology eliminates the need for the user to travel across the Internet and a multitude of desktop programs to seek out and organize information.

Currently, "customizing" options is limited to portals that attempt to personalize the user experience by piecing together information from different sources in a strictly controlled environment.

Cerylion's technology, developed in Israel and brought to the United States in 1999, allows for the creation of "threads" of associated information, and enables users to organize content and actions based on lifestyle, personal preferences, work criteria and social needs. The user creates personalized activity books "chained" together by specific content and actions.

For example, an end-user booking an airline flight to New York City could trigger a series of actions: hotel and car reservations, emails notifying specific individuals of flight changes and meeting times.

"Anyone who has attempted to access information from a mobile device has experienced the clear shortcomings of the currently available options," said John Ackermann, Cerylion CEO.

Cerylion's WebSpace Platform features:

* a Personal WebSpace Manager, which allows subscribers to organize content and transactional services from any information source, based on their preferences and in the context they choose.

* Mobile WebSpace Manager- works with Personal WebSpace Manager to provide subscribers with access to content and services from a variety of sources via any mobile device.

* WebSpace Host Server- a carrier-class application that provides for the hosting of highly personalized wireless data subscriber Web sites and offers value-added services to accelerate network service provider growth and revenue.
