US Wireless Online acquires iSkywire

Wireless broadband service provider US Wireless Online today announced its acquisition of fellow wireless Internet provider iSkywire. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed; the transaction is expected to close within the next 60 days.

By acquiring three-year-old iSkywire, US Wireless Online will extend its network to include metropolitan Louisville, Ky., including the surrounding southern Indiana cities of Charlestown, Starlight and Floyds Knobs. US Wireless Online now offers service across a coverage area of about 3000 square miles across 11 states.

The iSkywire acquisition is the second major deal announced by US Wireless Online in about a month: In mid-February, the company merged with rival broadband wireless provider Air2Lan.
