Survey: Multimedia mobile devices don't excite early adopters
A report from In-Stat based on a survey of early adopters of multimedia mobile devices indicates that only a small percentage of those surveyed are intensely interested in buying such devices.

Fewer than 9% of the early-adopter survey respondents said they were "very or extremely interested" in purchasing a mobile phone that also could play MP3s or other music files. Less than 11% said they had that level of interest in broadcast TV services over such devices.
"Cell phone manufacturers, carriers and content providers face serious challenges in convincing these end-users of the benefits of music- or video-centric phones," said Neil Strother, In-Stat analyst, in a statement. "The survey did reveal some positives from respondents, however, including a willingness to spend a modest amount more for music or TV phones, and for additional storage."
