MobiTV, mSpot subs shoot up

Unicast TV continues to gain subscribers as more carriers embrace the service and more phones become video enabled

MobiTV isn’t just drawing more subscribers; it’s seen a dramatic upswing in viewing time among its existing subscriber base. Both daily unique users and total viewing time per user have increased by more than 50% in the last six months.

MobiTV provides a 50-channel lineup featuring programming from most major broadcast and cable networks. Currently Sprint, AT&T, Alltel, Telus, Rogers and Bell Mobility offer its application, and it also sells subscriptions directly to consumers through a PC client. mSpot offers eight music video channels, dozens of music and talk radio channels as well as a pay-per-view feature film streaming service. It currently resides on the Sprint, US Cellular, Boost Mobile, Telus and Bell Mobility networks.
