Citizens taps Flarion for broadband

Citizens Wireless will deploy Flarion’s Flash-OFDM technology in three communities in Virginia using 700 MHz spectrum. Citizens will launch the networks in Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford this fall, selling mobile services with Flash-OFDM cards and a broadband mobile Wi-Fi router supplied by Netgear for residential and small business customers. The deal is the second Flarion has announced in so many weeks for its OFDM technology. Last week, Finland’s Digita it would roll out a nationwide Flash-OFDM network, marking Flarion’s first announced commercial deployment.
