The new services include bcgi Access Management, a toolkit for operators and subscribers that enables real-time control over employees’ and children’s device usage patterns. Another new service, bcgi Billing, supports the introduction and management of targeted rate plans along with billing for data and content delivery, while bcgi Payment offers carriers and subscribers a number of assisted and self-service wireless account payment options across a series of distribution channels, including the Web, handsets, ATMs and kiosks. Finally, bcgi Network delivers real-time voice and data session control in any network environment, including GSM, CDMA, iDEN and 802.x.

“Consolidation has put pressure on us to adopt a more flexible platform,” said Tom Erskine, vice president of product development at Boston Communications Group. “Also, the MVNO space is really heating up, and that presents a huge opportunity for us because the majority of these new companies are looking for outsourced support, and they’re not in a position to run or purchase platforms themselves.”

In a related announcement, Boston Communications said that James Anderson will lead the company’s new Professional Services Group; David Fondots will head up its International Sales team, and Daniel Carney will oversee its Licensed Systems Group. The positions were created in part to support sales and deployment of Boston Communications’ new mobile services. In addition, Erskine said the company will actively pursue more international business, with global sales currently accounting for 5% of its overall revenue.

“Our value proposition hasn’t changed,” Erskine said. “We’re still helping operators get more out of their networks than they’re getting today.”
