Argogroup earns China deployment

Mobile networking monitoring vendor Argogroup announced that its Monitor Master platform has been deployed in China on a TD-SCDMA network.

The platform's testing capabilities for Time Division-Synchronous Code Division
Multiple Access include testing for services such as mobile browsing and SMS, with video streaming and MMS testing currently in development and due to be deployed in the
coming months, according to Argogroup.

The U.K. company said in a statement that one of the key challenges of developing TD-SCDMA testing software is that the standard is not deployed anywhere outside of China. To overcome this challenge, Argogroup's engineers in the region worked closely with
Chinese firm Datang Mobile.

"The market in China is immense," commented Thomas Renz, senior vice president of the Quality of Service Business Unit at Argogroup. "With network subscriber numbers now topping 400 million, it's been predicted that TD-SCDMA-based mobile communications will bring China's 3G equipment and related product-makers over CNY 500 billion. With these sort of figures in mind, it is absolutely critical for network operators in the region to be able to provide a quality of service which matches their end-users' expectations and out-performs their competitors in order to ensure a piece of the pie."
