Ditech’s quality is Job One for Orascom
Ditech Communications is bringing its Voice Quality Assurance to mobile operators in the Middle East through a deal announced this week with Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E.

OT, a mobile telecommunications company serving the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, will deploy Ditech’s VQA solution initially in the network of Pakistani GSM operator Mobilink and Djezzy, a GSM operator in Algeria. OT has GSM operations in seven emerging markets and has over 30 million subscriber. The company’s currently has 8% penetration rate in a market with 460 million people.
These will be Ditech’s largest installations of VQA to date. The technology will be used to improve call clarity and performance of these mobile networks.
Tamer El Mahdy, CTO of Orascom said in a statement that using Ditech’s VQA would also help it improve capacity utilization as well as the sound and clarity of mobile calls.
Ditech’s voice processing products support both mobile and wire-line operators for circuit and packet based networks. They include high-capacity voice enhancement and echo canceller solutions that use advanced software and digital signal processor technology. The company also has a line of VoIP products that combine VQA technology with packet voice processing and security capabilities.
Ditech also recently won a deal for its PeerPoint C100 session border controller product with MCM Telecom, a competitive service provider based in Mexico City.
