Aperto puts PacketWAVE in Pakistan

SUPERNET Limited, an ISP in Pakistan, said it has deployed its Aperto Network's PacketWave broadband wireless systems in Karachi, Pakistan, and is in the process of deploying more systems in the cities of Lahore and Islamabad.

The deployment announcement comes less than two weeks Aperto earned WiMAX Forum certification for its PacketMAX platform, which is the WiMAX version of the PacketWAVE. The latter product is upgradable to PacketMAX.

SUPERNET'S 3.5 GHz wireless network will be used to provide high-speed data connectivity for enterprises and banks, and to enhance SUPERNET’s service delivery across the major urban areas in Pakistan.
