AOL launches mobile storefront

America Online has launched a mobile services portal called AOLMobile.com, with information on service providers, devices and services, including content applications, that users can purchase through the portale.

AOL partner with InPhonic, the online mobile distributor and mobile virtual network enabler, to launch the portal. With the launch, AOL also is offering a WAP 2-based mobile extension of the portal, allowing mobile users access to its resources, such as a mobile dashboard for managing features and preferences; an account management feature; a mobile phone finder function and other capabilities. Some of these feature will be available later this year.
