Distribution of Wi-Fi hot spots by venue

According to research by TIA, the retail/cafe segment will continue to be the most popular hot-spot location, growing to 37,000 locations nationwide by 2008. However its rate of growth will be the smallest among the categories, 25.6 percent on a compound annual basis. The number of hot spots in public areas is expected to grow by an average of 60.9 percent each year through 2008 to 13,400, surpassing hotels/convention centers as the second most popular hot-spot location.
