The content download site, called CBS Mobile Store, will offer a new “Live” wallpapers service, which will constantly download and update the backdrop of a mobile phone screen with scenes from CBS reality TV shows such as Survivor and Big Brother. The portal will also offer video services, such as highlights from Late Night with David Letterman. The service is being run by VeriSign, which will bill and provision the content on a subscription basis or through individual purchases.

The two WAP information portals, CBS SportsLine and CBS News, will be an extension of CBS’s online portals, bringing up-to-the-minute sports scores and headlines as well as offering many of its online services on the mobile browser, such as the management of fantasy sports teams. Both WAP portals and the mobile store were built using Volantis’ mobile content platform.
