Onboard Airtime Taking Off

Carriers may reap the benefits of loosened wireless-phone-use rules by Northwest Airlines. Passengers now may use their wireless phones aboard planes and in the jetways whenever at least one of the aircraft doors is open. A Northwest pilot in command also may allow passengers to use wireless phones after doors are closed while the plane is on the ground and clear of all runways.
