NETWORK-TEST APPLICATION Netcom Systems' SmartVoIP QoS solution analyzes the quality of service (QoS) delivered by policy-based network devices critical tohigh-quality converged services using the company's SmartBits Windows-based application. The solution uses capabilities of SmartMetrics cards to generate data and voice traffic, analyzing the performance of each incoming stream to test a network's ability to forward large numbers of data and voice flows by measuring loss and latency statistics for every packet transmitted. It also analyzes the device's ability to handle policies implemented in the network or device under test. It helps service providers with design decisions to give voice-over-IP (VoIP) installations switched voice quality.
