Thanks to 2-way text messaging, Motorola's V2397 and Talkabout T8097, and several models of Nokia phones including the Nokia 8260, are expected to be hot sellers.
"That's a huge one this year because it's brand new on the market," said Danielle Perry, AT&T Wireless spokesperson. "We've never had 2-way text messaging nationally in this country before."
The wireless Web also is a big draw for customers. Ericsson's R280LX phone is AT&T's featured Digital PocketNet phone. According to Perry, the carrier already has seen tremendous popularity and expects that this phone will be especially fitting for the 2000 holiday season.
According to Nancy Sherrer, Sprint PCS manager, media relations, its Wireless Web service will be a feature customers are looking for. Sprint PCS is offering the TP3000 from LG InfoComm. The phone has a PDA built in and Web access. The TP1100 from LG InfoComm also features Web access.
