AT&T Wireless and Juno Online have formed a strategic marketing alliance where AT&T will offer its digital PCS service to Juno's subscribers through a series of interactive advertising campaigns.

Under the terms of the marketing alliance, Juno's subscribers can sign up for AT&T wireless rate plans, specifically Digital One Rate, when they visit juno.com to get their e-mail messages.

Through the alliance, AT&T will offer Juno subscribers the opportunity to learn about and purchase AT&T wireless digital PCS products and services.

"AT&T's wireless plans, including AT&T Digital One Rate, enable us to offer our customers the same level of convenience for their wireless communications that they get from Juno for Internet services," said Charles Ardai, Juno president.

The benefit to AT&T is the ability to reach out through juno.com and make offers to a specific customer base, sell products and services, get feedback and find out how to best deliver the products and services that fit their needs, said Michael Broom, AT&T Wireless director of corporate communications.

Juno's membership is a technologically savvy mix of business users and consumers, but Broom said the alliance is targeted primarily at consumers.

"These are people on the go; they're using a number of different communication services," he said. "It's a good match."

But the biggest benefit for AT&T is that its digital/PCS subscriber base will grow in the process.

AT&T may offer more services via Juno in the future.

"Electronic commerce is an ever-increasing area in the marketplace; we're always looking at ways to best reach our customers with products and services that best fit their needs," he said.

Juno and AT&T Wireless Services are planning a coordinated campaign of on-line banner and pop-up ads that will inform Juno users about the offerings available through AT&T. The campaign will launch officially sometime this year.
