• Puerto Rican carrier MoviStar, a joint venture of ClearComm and Telefónica Móviles, will deploy TruePosition's network-based location technology. Deployment will begin in San Juan and will allow the carrier to provide FCC-compliant E-911 service. In a separate deal, Cingular also will use TruePosition's time-difference-of-arrival location technology in portions of its network.

• Network-enhancing software provider mDiversity has changed its name to Mobility Networks. The company's Multi-Link Networking solutions combat shadow fading and other hostile radio-environment elements to improve carriers' spectrum efficiency.

• After two years as WAP Forum CEO, Scott Goldman is now go2 Systems president & COO. Go2's patented technologies provide location-based services to wireless users. The go2 directory appears on virtually every major U.S. carrier's phones.

Correction

In the Sept. 1 “Where Are They Now” article, Don Nelson was incorrectly identified as still working on the U.S. Cellular board of directors and CTIA executive committee. Nelson, in fact, is on the board of directors for five start-up companies: Infoplus, Learning Insights, Loudfire, Profitlab and 10Best. Wireless Review regrets the error.
