TI sees wireless growth

Semiconductor maker Texas Instruments saw its second-quarter revenues increase by 24% from a year earlier driven primarily by increased sales of wireless products.

Though TI didn’t break out which technologies contributed what percentages to its $3.51 billion in semiconductor revenues, it said that sales of analog baseband and broadband products increased 23% year-over-year and digital signal processor sales grew 24%. Furthermore, sales of 3G chipsets increased 70% giving it overall 27% growth in wireless semiconductors for the quarter.

In total TI generated $3.7 billion in revenue, including 70 million from a royalty settlement with Conexant Systems, and netted $739 million, not including its recent sale of its sensors and control division, which brought in an $1.5 billion.
