The company, 1st Source Information Specialists, runs four Web sites that obtain and sell wireless call detail records: www.locatecell.com, www.celltolls.com, www.datafind.com and www.peoplesearchamerica.com. Sprint claims the company uses fraudulent tactics--such as posing as customers trying to access their accounts--to get access to Sprint’s phone logs and customer phone numbers.

The suit, filed in Florida, follows on the heels of legal action taken by Cingular and the FCC against the same company. Cingular earlier this week said a U.S. District Court in Atlanta had granted Cingular a restraining order against 1st Source, while the FCC earlier this month issued a citation against the company for failing to answer a subpoena for information on how it acquired customer information.
