Austin-based Broadwing had announced on Oct. 13 that McLeod was leaving the company effective Nov. 6, though no public information on his future plans became available until this week. He had been with Broadwing only since May of this year.

McLeod is a 21-year veteran of the telecom industry who also previously had been senior vice president of operations at Metromedia Fiber Network.
