LGC supplies network operators and enterprises with indoor radio access equipment that extends CDMA and GSM networks’ range to the inside of buildings. Meanwhile ADC has built a wireless business on indoor transport solutions that backhaul cellular signals to remote base stations. ADC said the two portfolios complement each other well and that ADC’s own larger market presence and customer base will help push LGC’s already successful product line to more operators.
“LGC’s technology meshes very well with our existing lines of networking systems, and we believe that this acquisition will make our wireless division a far more significant contributor to overall corporate revenue,” said Hilton Nicholson, president of ADC’s Active Infrastructure division, said in a statement.
The companies said the deal is expected to close in one to three months. The closing price includes $20.5 million in liabilities and fees.
