ADC acquires all of G-Connect

ADC Telecommunications announced that it had acquired the outstanding shares it did not previously own in Israeli start-up G-Connect, a company which it originally invested in during the late 1990s. The purchase price was not disclosed.

G-Connect manufactures and IP service gateway and other products for small and medium-sized ISPs in the U.S., Europe and Latin America. The company was founded in 1996 as a subsidiary of Teledata Communications.

The company's SG-1 product is a particularly useful for managing IP traffic in wireless municipal area networks that are an emerging segment of the broadband services market, ADC said. The gateway provides features such as user authentication, delivery of differentiated web-services/content, and flexible management of network traffic in real-time.
