SmartVideo, Fox Sports launch smartphone sports video channel
NEW ORLEANS--SmartVideo Technologies today said it has developed with Fox Sports a sports video channel that will broadcast highlights and sports drawn from Fox’s sports programming. The service, however, is specifically targeted at OS-run smartphones and PDAs. SmartVideo said the service is available over all of the common OS platforms and is supported by most media players. While the Sports channel along with SmartVideo’s other content is available over 2.5G phones, the service is optimized for new 3G networks, providing 24 frames per second (fps) over an EV-DO or UMTS network, and up to 28 fps over a WiFi-enabled device.
