iBasis today unveiled a new streamlined wholesale voice product portfolio, designed following a year of integration work between the iBasis IP network and the TDM network of the KPN Global Services operation iBasis acquired a year ago. The new product portfolio was tailored to meet the needs of iBasis’s wholesale customers, said Chris Lengyel, director of product management.

The new product portfolio includes: Direct Voice, the least expensive service for wholesale carriers based directly on the iBasis network and its lowest-cost routes; Value Voice, which adds additional coverage based on iBasis’ relationship with other carriers but maintains competitive rates for wholesale, retail and calling card operators; Certified Voice, using 100 service provider partners and aimed at retail operators providing consumer VoIP service requiring coverage, stabile routers and higher quality; and Premium Voice, a service which uses direct connections to incumbent carrier partners to deliver high voice quality aimed at mobile and retail operators.

“A year ago, we had a billion-minute-per-month TDM service from KPN and a billion-minute-per-month VoIP service from iBasis and eight different products,” Lengyel said. “We have worked hard to integrate the networks and our operators and to automate processes. Over that time period, we also interviewed our top customers, looked at traffic profiles and looked for product synergies.”

Each product has a specific segment it addresses, Lengyel said. For example, the Certified Voice product is a one-stop shop for non-traditional players to use to offer voice services, including Internet companies, he said.

The Premium Voice product is based on KPN’s flagship offering and delivers the highest quality possible, Lengyel said.

The iBasis value proposition is based on the company’s global reach and ability to handle large volumes of international traffic, managing the complexity of traffic routing through its sophisticated management systems, Lengyel said.
