Since its acquisition of software company, Click to Meet, in March, Radvision has worked to combine its hardware infrastructure products with both Microsoft products.
“The products that came with the Click to Meet acquisition were uniquely positioned for the Microsoft environment because the software is much more scalable than a hardware solution,” said Bob Romano, vice president of marketing at Radvision.
Click to Meet (CTM) software supports multiparty video, voice and data collaboration sessions for the enterprise by automatically detecting available network resources and directing a call through the most inexpensive route. Radvision is a provider of PC and wireless-based real time collaboration, video conferencing, video telephony, and converged voice, video and data over IP and 3G networks.
The solution for Intel’s AdvancedTCA Video Media Server is aimed at helping carriers provide hosted telephony services to their broadband, residential and enterprise customers. The server runs on Linux and allows for less expensive and quicker deployment of new and bundled services.
The ATCA solution is available in a single NEBS-3/ETSI compliant chassis. CTM software adds multiparty conferencing capabilities to Microsoft’s Live Communications Server (LCS) and Office Communicator that can be launched with the click of a button from an instant messaging session or a single party voice call. It is the first audio/video product that fully supports Microsoft’s new SIP-CX conference control capabilities. It does the same for Microsoft’s Live Meeting, adding multipoint and multi-device connectivity to collaboration sessions. General availability is expected next month.
“Microsoft believes you should be able to participate in a conference by getting an invitation and deciding which device you want to take the conference on,” Romano said. “We enable that by providing bridging services to the different devices and we bridge beyond the boundaries of Office Communicator through our gateway.
