Bechtel, AAT team for network builds

Bechtel Telecommunications, a unit of global construction giant Bechtel, and AAT Communications Corp., a wireless tower siting firm, announced a two-year contract to offer wireless carriers a turnkey solution for tower siting and network expansion projects.

Bechtel, based in Washington, D.C., will become AAT’s preferred new tower deployment contractor, and AAT, located in St. Louis, will become Bechtel’s preferred tower ownership and management company. The agreement allows both firms to also work with other companies on those projects as carriers wish, but outlines pricing and protocols for Bechtel/AAT collaborations. The partners will begin co-marketing the turnkey approach immediately.

Bechtel specializes in RF design, cell site engineering, construction, equipment installation, and related services, while AAT focuses on site ownership, management, and maintenance. Both companies perform site acquisition for wireless carriers.
