AirMagnet is working with Wireless Friendly, a Canadian integrator, on the project. AirMagnet sensors will be deployed at corporate enterprise customer premises to monitor network performance issues, such as traffic overload, as well as security breaches from rogue access points and clients, denial of service attacks, access point impersonation and unconfigured access points.

The carrier also will use AirMagnet Distributed’s Wi-Fi "dashboard" at its network operations centers to help manage customers’ corporate WLAN security policies. "We are seeing more and more interest in deploying enterprise-wide wireless networks and it is critical to have the right solutions to manage them," said J.P. Tanguay, CEO and founder of Wireless Friendly.

Carriers such as SBC, BellSouth and Allstream increasingly see a role for their companies as managed Wi-Fi service providers for these enterprises. "As service providers forge into the hosted wireless network arena, it is critical that they are able to guarantee quality of service and connectivity to customers," said Dean Au, CEO of AirMagnet.
