Worldwide IP PBX shipments take a jumper

IP PBX shipments were on the rise in the second quarter, according to Dell'Oro Group. Shipments increased 17% and almost hit the 2 million line mark (1.8 million). Large scale PBXs outsold smaller units 28% to 6%. The big winners were: Number 2 ranked Cisco, with a 23% increase in lines shipped: Number 5 ranked Mitel, which went up 22%; and Avaya, which rose 18%. Market leader Alcatel, according to Dell'Oro, sold 10% more lines, while Nortel dropped 2%.
