Wireless wonders: NextWeb acquires Innetix; 2xWireless launches T1 service

More commercial customers will have access to high-speed data via fixed wireless networks as a result of two service provider movements. In the San Francisco Bay area, NextWeb has acquired the network infrastructure and customer base of Innetix and hopes to expand its coverage by about 30%, taking aim at more than 15,000 small and medium-sized businesses in the Silicon Valley.

NextWeb, which will continue to support Innetix’s existing customers, offers high-speed Internet access that is 30% faster than a T-1 at about half the cost, the company said.

In Las Vegas, Internet Business International Inc.’s 2xWireless Division is offering wireless T-1 packages for commercial and small office/home office customers, providing wireless T-1 for $475 per month with a $1000 installation fee.
