“We’re introducing a switch five times the capacity of what’s out there today and one-tenth the size and power,” said Mike Champa, CEO and president of Winphoria, which has signed a deal with a nationwide U.S. CDMA operator.

In addition to acting as a serving MSC, the WMS-5000 can be deployed in a gateway MSC configuration, offloading CPU requirements from capacity constrained legacy MSCs and significantly reducing trunks required for inter-MSC call deliver and voicemail access.
