Vonage adds Raleigh to its rally

Broadband phone service provider Vonage launched service this week in Raleigh, NC, and its surrounding communities: Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill and Research Triangle Park. In addition to its unlimited local and long-distance carrot, Vonage can now offer residents the option of keeping their phone number or getting one with the 919 area code. Growing fast and soon to become an issue with which regulators will have to deal, Vonage's service area encompasses more than 1300 active rate centers in 90 U.S. markets. It currently has more than 40,000 lines in service, which carry more than 2.5 million calls per week.
