Verizon Wireless may wait on IPO

Verizon co-CEO Ivan Seidenberg said Wednesday that Verizon is in “no rush” to take Verizon Wireless public.

The joint venture between Vodafone and Verizon was founded in 2000 as the country’s largest mobile carrier. Shortly after its creation, officials with both companies announced plans for an IPO. But Seidenberg told analysts in Scottsdale, Ariz., that souring economic conditions and the collapse of the NextWave Telecom spectrum license deal have made the IPO less attractive.
