Verizon Wireless gets positive feedback on 1X tests

Verizon Wireless announced that participants in its 1XRTT Express Network preview lauded the network’s speed and expanded capabilities. Some participants included IBM, GE, Gateway, PacketVideo, GoAmerica Communications, Wireless Knowledge and Aether Systems.

The point of the preview was to demonstrate that certain popular business applications are compatible with Verizon’s Express Network. The network, which is expected to deliver speeds of between 40 and 60 kbps, is expected to be available commercially in the first half of 2002.
