Verizon, Vodafone target business travelers

Verizon Wireless has teamed up with U.K.-based Vodafone Group to offer a dual-branded Verizon-Vodafone laptop PC mobile data service for business customers traveling between the U.S and Europe.

The data card for the service is based on the Vodafone Mobile Connect Card, which Verizon Wireless will license. Despite the former’s GPRS network and the latter’s CDMA 1X RTT framework, the companies will cooperate on hardware, software billing and roaming to ensure a seamless data experience for business travelers, the companies said.
