The Telephone Protection Plan costs $6.95 per month and covers all telephones and Caller ID display units on a customer’s account, provided that basic wire maintenance and equipment protection have been purchased on at least one phone line on the account. The telephone protection plan includes the wire-maintenance component, which costs $3.45 per month if purchased separately.

Under the plan, Verizon will replace a broken unit with a new model equipped with identical features. Customers can have their original equipment repaired at participating RadioShack stores. If the problem can’t be corrected, new equipment can be picked up on the spot. Coverage is capped at $400 worth of equipment per year, per home account.
