Verizon to cut 1000 employees
Verizon Wireless reportedly plans to lay off 1000 employees in the next few weeks, but maintained that the cuts would amount to less than 2 percent of the company’s work force.

Verizon, which has over 40,000 employees, reportedly wants to cut staff in an effort to reach the optimal operating structure. This would be the fourth set of layoffs since the carrier was formed in April 2000.--Kelly Carroll, Staff Writer
