Venus warms to Optibase
Venus Telephone, which serves Clarion County, Pa., has selected Optibase's MGW 5100 carrier-grade TV streaming platform to provide video service. The carrier, which is using ADSL to transport the video streams, is providing more than 130 video and music channels to subscribers. Venus also is launching a service that lets users view high-quality video on their home desktop PCs. Though currently carrying MPEG-2 signals, the company is planning to upgrade to MPEG-4.
