Ungermann joins Strix board
Ralph Ungermann, the Ethernet networking guru, who founded three successful companies and remains Chairman and CEO of First Virtual Corp., has been appointed to the board of directors of Strix Systems.

Strix is a fairly new company, based in Westlake Village, Calif., that is developing Wi-Fi network infrastructure for corporate enterprises that doesn’t rely on costly Ethernet wiring for connections between access points. Bruce Brown, chairman and CEO of Strix, said in a statement that Ungermann will help Strix develop market opportunities in Asia, where he has made strong OEM and VAR connections over many years. Ungermann also will provide direction in how Strix positions its Access/One Network platform.
