Thomson trumps DSL modem market
It's not surprising that a French company is topping the list of any market share study in DSL. What is surprising is that the company is Thomson, which was rated the number one provider in the DSL customer premises equipment (CPE) market during the second quarter of 2003, according to Gartner. Unlike the network equipment market, though, CPE is still highly fragmented with Thomson capturing only 9.9% of the market with 807,000 units shipped worldwide.
