Thomson targets telcos
Thomson unveiled a new video delivery platform that will let carriers deliver a suite of home entertainment services over their DSL networks. The platform, called Cobra support MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Part 2, Windows Media 9 Series and MPEG-4 Part 10 compression. Thomson, which has been a long-time supplier to the cable operator community, teamed up with Intel, Microsoft TV and Alcatel to develop Cobra.
