The Virginia-based company will re-evaluate all its markets throughout the United States and make changes regarding the provisioning of certain services, the Teligent spokeswoman said.

“It’s part of a broader effort to bring the company to the point where we have a strong business going forward,” she said.

New Jersey-based IDT, a facilities-based telecom carrier, purchased a 37% stake in Teligent last month. An IDT spokeswoman declined to comment on the Teligent layoffs.
