PRIMEDIA's TELEPHONY ANNOUNCES NEW WEB SITE FEATURES

Telephony Adds Vendor Research Library and Navigation Tools to Telephony Online

January 30, 2003 – CHICAGO – PRIMEDIA’s Telephony today announced the addition of the Vendor Research Library and enhanced navigation tools on its Web site, www.telephonyonline.com. These additions offer the service provider industry a more intuitive information resource for news and analysis in the telecom sector.

“We're always improving our online products as newer technologies and Web tools become available to us,” said Mark Hickey, publisher of Telephony. “This ongoing investment delivers to our readers more effective and intelligent information resources for their professional lives.”

The Vendor Research Library provides white papers from industry vendors at no charge to the reader. Other new features for the redesigned site include an improved navigation bar, access to different print and online articles via navigation tabs across the top of the web site and an overall cleaner look.

“We have repositioned the latest article postings by our editors at the top of the page for immediate access to breaking news and analysis on recent announcements,” said Chip Howard, Telephony online editor. “We also reorganized our stories into defined departments that correlate to editors' beat coverage in the magazine and in e-Newsletters.” Howard added, “The new site also enables our readers to access white papers, Webinars and InFocus articles contributed by vendors, which is an area of interest for many Telephony readers.”

Telephony Online has seen a 93% growth in page views the last six months and the number of unique users has doubled. The site is continuing to see a steady growth in traffic, which it attributes to an expanded presence on Google and search engines such as Yahoo.com and MSN.com. “Our search engine capabilities have improved over the years and as we learn more about ways to connect to our audience,” said Hickey. “Our advertisers have enjoyed the growth in ad impressions and continue to reinvest in their online marketing presence with Telephony Online.
