Taqua lands trio of contracts

Taqua, which was recently acquired by Tekelec (see story) said it has signed three additional ILECs to use its iX7000 next-gen switching platform.

Cassadaga, which is part of DFT Communications in western New York, will use the platform to replace a Nortel remote. Searsboro Telephone, which serves Searsboro and Killduff, Iowa, has transferred its toll and tandem service from a Mitel Class 5 switch. And South Canaan Telephone in South Canaan, Penn., is using the iX7000 to replace two existing Nortel DMX-10s.
