Survey: Verizon Wireless should be least affected by LNP

A survey of business users conducted by In-Stat/MDR said Verizon Wireless likely would be the carrier that is least affected by local number portability after it takes effect on November 24, even though the carrier has the highest penetration in the business sector—along with AT&T Wireless—and theoretically has the most to lose as a result. More than half of the survey participants said they had been with their current providers for at least three years, indicating that business customers will be less likely to churn due to the advent of LNP. In addition, Verizon Wireless rated highly on several customer satisfaction metrics. These factors together could explain why Verizon Wireless recently has been a vocal proponent of LNP, the firm said.
