Sprint PCS predicts jump in Q4 revenue, 2002 sales

Sprint PCS has predicted that a gain in subscribers and strong average customer revenue will help boost its fourth-quarter 2001 revenue by 40% and increase its sales for 2002 by 30%, to $13 billion.

The carrier is anticipating fourth-quarter revenue of $2.7 billion to $2.8 billion and revenue for the year at about $9.7 billion to $9.8 billion, which is more than 50% higher than the $5.4 billion reported in 2000. Sprint PCS also predicted it will add 4.2 million new subscribers in 2001 and 3.6 million to 3.7 million in 2002.
