Telcordia and its parent company Science Applications International Corporation will work with Soma to help carriers integrate Soma’s Amosphere point-to-multipoint broadband systems with North American carriers’ existing billing and IT systems. Soma officials said the deal will allow for rapid deployment of Soma’s systems and give Soma’s customers a fully managed network instead of merely selling them radio equipment.

Soma also announced it has signed a contract with Always On Network to deploy Amosphere systems in residential and small business markets in Oregon. Following the network’s launch in July, Always On intends to deploy equipment in Idaho, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
